Coal Harbour constitutes a radical reinvention of Vancouver's downtown urban waterfront from working port to master-planned waterfront community. As such, it is a significant contributor to Vancouver's emerging new lifestyle myth.
Coal Harbour is a young community that was originally a Waterfront industry until it started its residential redevelopment in the 1990's.
